Our experienced RTITB-registered instructors deliver training at your workplace, using your own equipment and working environment. This means training is relevant to your day-to-day operations and gives operators the practical experience they need in the environment in which they actually work.
Choosing the right course depends on the operator’s previous experience, existing training and the type of equipment they will be required to operate

Novice Operator Training (3-5 days)
Novice training is designed for operators with little or no previous experience of operating a forklift truck. The course provides the essential knowledge and practical skills required to operate the equipment safely, correctly and efficiently.
Operators with no previous experience must complete appropriate basic training before being permitted to operate a forklift truck as part of their work duties.
Our novice courses cover the fundamentals of forklift operation, including truck controls, stability, load handling, pre-use checks and safe operating procedures.

Experienced Operator Training (2-3 days)
Operators who have some previous experience of operating a forklift truck but have never completed formal training, testing and certification may require a different approach.
The HSE Approved Code of Practice L117 recognises that operators with some experience may require less extensive training than those with no previous experience.

Refresher Courses (1 day)
Refresher training helps experienced and certified operators maintain their skills, reinforce safe working practices and address any poor operating habits that may have developed over time.
There is no specific refresher training interval prescribed by law. However, an industry guideline of approximately 3–5 years is commonly used, depending on the operator’s experience, workplace conditions and the findings of the employer’s risk assessment.
The appropriate refresher training frequency should be determined by reviewing the risks associated with your individual operations, including changes to equipment, working conditions or operator performance.

Conversion Courses (2-3 days)
Operators who have been trained and certificated on one type of forklift truck or handling attachment cannot automatically operate other types of equipment without receiving additional training.
As outlined in the HSE Approved Code of Practice L117, operators require appropriate conversion training when moving to a different type of truck or attachment.
Conversion training courses are designed for operators who already hold relevant training and certification but need to develop the skills required to safely operate another type of forklift truck.
