The general nature of the majority of road freight businesses is such that there is a requirement for vehicles of all shapes and sizes to collect goods, transport those goods internally as part of general site operations, and make deliveries to a range of customer locations. Unfortunately, there is an element of risk associated with any vehicle movements, especially when they take place in confined spaces or around other people.
The purpose of this course is to work toward that objective by introducing new candidates to this vital workplace role, and by providing existing, qualified banksmen with critical refresher training and updates in regulations and techniques that may have occurred since they last underwent training. The course focuses on the roles and responsibilities of the banksman, as well as the risks associated with the working environment, and signalling and communication methods that can be used to minimise those risks.
